Dockage
in Abaco Bahamas
Perhaps the most valued of all, having your own private dock is a must for many
waterfront buyers. With the addition of a lift or davit, most frontages on the Sea of Abaco can accommodate your boating needs. Most
Eastern Shores property provide dockage on either side of the peninsula’s Sea of Abaco location.
Great Cistern Cay, while more exposed, provides a superb location on some prime
fishing grounds. Great Abaco Club is unique in being able to offer sheltered dockage for many larger yachts than can usually be accommodated on the open water. A wonderful new addition to
boating on Abaco are the homes at Carleton Landing in
Treasure Cay. This architecturally designed community provides Carriage Houses with four homes in each estate-style building and detached family-style Cottages, all with protected
dockage on the Treasure Cay harbour.
Several full-service marinas, dry storage and marine repair yards complete the picture.
On either the Cays or the “mainland”, most properties which front the Sea of Abaco can accommodate a
private dock. There are guidelines which prevent the erosion of beaches, limit the divergence of the natural flow of water and protect fish habitats such as mangrove swamps.
Dock and dredging permits are issued by the Port Authority to whom the annual dock fees are remitted. Protective
fishing and diving regulations are enforced. Please

dockage information.
